Hints and tips for database searches

  • Put a phrase in quotation marks (ex. "fair trade") if you would like those words to appear as a phrase in your search
  • Use "or" in your search to return more search results (ex. fair trade OR trade agreements)
  • Use "and" to return fewer results (ex. fair trade and globalization)
  • Use the asterisk key to truncate a word. This means that the database will search for any form of that word (ex. use glob* to search for globalization, global, etc)
